Doctor Who is now (unofficially) LEGO Compatible! The Character Building range of Doctor Who toys has nothing to do with LEGO but the bricks and characters work together. We had a play at Toy Fair 2011.

More pictures, we headed back to the stand and took pics of all the boxes too.

£1.99 buys you one of a series of 10 characters and you don’t know which one you’ve bought until you open the packet. We announced the launch of these toys last week and now we’ve got our hands on them we’re even more excited.

You’ll have a few months to buy the characters and swap them with your friends. Daleks, Amy, the Doctor and all the rest of the alien hordes are collectible. The theory behind these toys is to perfect the figurines with a world of Doctor Who scenes to build and save for. The Inside of the Tardis is the most expensive item for £49.99:

Start saving and keep an eye out for these in the newsagents and toy shops. They’re directly in competition with Lego who do 16-figurine sets for the same price so you’ll have to decide… how much do you love Doctor Who?  If the Doctors of today don’t float your Dalek then there’s a box set collection of all the Doctors from history

Set your mind (and wallet) to it and you can command armies of baddies. Daleks, Cybermen and Crying Angels are waiting to be collected:

They’ll be in the shops around March this year.

More pictures, we headed back to the stand and took pics of all the boxes too.

One problem – it’s not Lego! Just a cheap copy, ever used Mega Bloks, worst ever!

I see no problem with these not being “real” Legos. They aren’t Legos. They are just COMPATIBLE with Legos, which is fine by me.

    These look great.

I don’t know a Doctor Who fan who wouldn’t want the whole Doctors line, and I want a bunch of Daleks in all colours!

Dr Who isn’t universal enough for Lego, and this is one of the best non-lego sets I have ever seen.

The pieces in all these sets look astonishingly similar to LEGO, all except the figures. For the younger generation, such as under 10′s, these would be amazing. None the less, I want all of these XD
