Pokémon has always been big in our house with the kids and normally we’d advocate playing games face to face but what happens, like in my sons case, if friends no longer want to play? That’s why the news of the launch of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online is worth mentioning, as it means your kids can carry on with their favourite card game, albeit it online.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Online is set to be a player-versus-player TCG and will launch in the Autumn of 2011. You’ll use virtual Pokémon TCG cards that players can collect, trade and battle over just as in the real world but without the fear of creasing the corners!

There are two ways that players can collect virtual Pokémon TCG cards. The first is the recently announced Pokémon Trainer Challenge, set to launch in April, which gives players the chance to own three free virtual Pokémon TCG pre-constructed decks that can be transferred into Pokémon TCG Online.

The second option is to buy one of the three Pokémon TCG: Black & White theme decks, which are available April 6th, as these come with a code to unlock a virtual deck for Pokémon Trainer Challenge and Pokémon TCG Online

There are plenty of developments to come closer to the launch later this year but if you or your kids are interested in playing Pokémon online then check out the action at Pokémon TCG Online.
